The Story of Fluidsurf

When Fluidsurf was born, there was no name for it yet. It was a vision inspired by the ocean waves themselves.

In the summer of 1996, Edsel Pabon journeyed to Majestics, a reef break in Catanduanes. He discovered a surf spot known by foreigners and locals alike for a long time. He rode his first wave and experienced his first wipe out.

During this time, surf spots like Baler, Daet, La Union, and Siargao each had their own local scenes but was little known to the rest of the Philippines. The local surf scene was still young but promising and active.

There were pioneers in the local surf scene, and Fluidsurf became one of them. Edsel envisioned a brand for surf clothing and gear that would eventually become one of the proponents of the Philippine boardriding culture.
